While some of Elvis' larger charitable endeavors are widely known, little is known about the extent to which Elvis gave quietly, without public recognition. Throughout his life, Elvis quietly paid hospital bills, bought homes and cars, and paid off debts for family, friends, and total strangers. Elvis never forgot what it was like to do without and enjoyed making people's lives a little bit easier.
Paralleling Elvis' life, little is also known of the tremendous amount in which Elvis Presley Fan Clubs raise for charity. To help celebrate and continue Elvis' tradition, fan club members contribute their time, talents, energy, and weekends to put together fund-raisers to collect donations for the charity of their choice. Whether it is donating cash to the Elvis Presley Trauma Center, supporting needy families, donating teddy bears to sick children, or donating peanut butter to food banks, these are all done in the memory of Elvis Presley.
Over the last 10 years, Elvis Presley Fan Clubs have raised over $3.1 million for charity. Below are some of the recent individual clubs' special donations and stories.
