GDC-GameDevCo Ltd today announced the immediate release of the Elvis Presley DVD Board Game through a pre-order program on ShopElvis.com, the official online shopping site for Elvis Presley merchandise. The game, which is officially licensed by Elvis Presley Enterprises, Inc., will be shipped to customers beginning in the third week of September.

The Elvis Presley DVD board game is the first Elvis game of its kind to hit the marketplace. The object of the game is to pay tribute to the King of Rock ‘N’ Roll by collecting artifact cards and completing a variety of tasks. The game features authentic video footage of Elvis, several hundred on-screen challenges that will test a player’s knowledge, and photos of Elvis that take you from the Gates of Graceland to Heartbreak Hotel. The game is for 2 to 4 players of ages 8 and over. The playing time for the game ranges from 30 minutes (2 players) to 45 minutes (3-4 players). The DVD features unlimited game play and is in NTSC format which is open to all regions. The game will be available through most major online retailers and several specialty retailers this fall with a worldwide rollout planned in 2010.

During the on-screen challenges, Elvis fans will have the opportunity to answer trivia, take observational challenges and figure out release dates for their favorite albums. In addition, Elvis fans will be able to watch and listen to Elvis’ post-Army and Madison Square Garden press conferences in their entirety.
